Volleyball
Ferris State improved to 9-0 on the year with two impressive wins to open GLIAC play on the road over the weekend. The Bulldogs beat then #16 Grand Valley State 3-1 in the league opener on Friday night and swept Wayne State 3-0 on Saturday in Detroit. FSU climbed to #7 nationally in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association D2 National Poll. Senior Olivia Henneman-Dallape was chosen as this week's GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third week in a row while senior setter Kaylee Maat was tabbed as the GLIAC Setter of the Week for the second-straight week. The Bulldogs will travel to Michigan's Upper Peninsula this week to face Michigan Tech on Friday and Northern Michigan on Saturday before returning home for their first home action on Oct. 4-5 in Big Rapids.

Soccer
Ferris State opened GLIAC play with a big 5-2 road win over Roosevelt last Friday in Illinois behind a pair of goals from senior Autumn Burns. FSU's Katherine Welch then tallied the only goal of the day in a 1-0 road triumph at Parkside on Sunday. The Bulldogs are currently ranked ninth in the United Soccer Coaches Midwest Region Rankings and will host Davenport this Sunday at 1 pm. The contest will serve as FSU's Senior Day and Parents Weekend tilt.

The Bulldog women's cross country squad won the Lansing Invitational on Friday while the men took fourth place overall in the event. Freshman Tessa Wohlschlegel led the Bulldogs with an eighth-place overall finish in a time of 20:02.0 on the 5K women's course. Both teams return to competition on Oct. 5 at the Live in the Lou Classic slated to be held in Louisville, Ky.
