Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team claimed runner-up honors at the UIndy Fall Invitational, which wrapped up play on Tuesday (Sept. 24) at the Braodmoor Country Club in Indiana.

The Bulldogs finished with a 833 total at 31 strokes under par for the 54 holes of action, finishing only four shots behind team champion Missouri S&T (829) in the nine-team field. Missouri-St. Louis (837) placed third overall.

Ferris State shot a 283 in round one followed by a 271 in the middle round and closed the competition with a 279 in Tuesday's final 18 holes of play.

Individually, FSU's McCoy Biagioli placed tied for fifth overall at nine-under par for the three rounds. He shot a 207 figure on rounds of 73 and 70 on Monday before firing an impressive eight-under par 64 in the last round.

Ferris State's Kole Putnam came in tied for seventh overall at 208 (-8) for the event, carding a 69 in both the first round and the final round along with a 70 in the middle frame.

The Bulldogs' Zach Koerner wound up tied for 11th in the field at 210 overall (-6), notching a final-round 72. Previously, he shot a 70 in the first round and a 68 in round two during day one play.

FSU's Drayton Cleaver finished 23rd overall with a 214 stroke total. After shooting a 71 and a 65 in Monday's action, he closed with a 78 in Tuesday's final round.

Finally, Sam Havey placed 29th for the Bulldogs at 218 overall. Havey shot a 76 in the first round followed by a 68 in the second round and a 74 in round three.

Ferris State's Shayne Beaufait also competed as an individual and was tied for 49th overall with a 228 score for the three rounds. After posting a 74 in the first round, he shot a 75 in the second round and closed with a 79 in the final round.

The Bulldogs will next compete in the Midwest Regional Preview slated for next Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) in St. Joseph, Mo.
