Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad had a strong day on Friday (Sept. 20) at the Davenport Invitational near Grand Rapids.

The Bulldogs reached the finals in five of the eight singles flights overall and three of the four doubles matches in the day-long event.

The event was a tune-up for next week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships, which will also be hosted by Davenport.

"It was another great day on the courts for Bulldog Tennis," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "With only four of our 10 players returning this year, I was extremely impressed with the high level of tennis played today by everybody."

The event included student-athletes from both FSU and Davenport along with Grand Valley State and Northwood.

The ITA Midwest Regional Championships are slated to start on Saturday (Sept. 28) and run thru Tuesday (Sept. 30).
